How GreenPeel Foods works

Before anything is captured, you're asked for explicit consent to analyze a photo. No scan happens without it, and you can decline or stop at any point. Your photo is only ever used to generate your own results.

Use your device's camera for a live capture or upload an existing photo. For the most reliable results: find good, even lighting (natural daylight works well), remove glasses, pull hair away from your face, and look straight at the camera with a neutral expression.

Before analysis runs, your photo is automatically checked for the conditions that make a reliable read possible. This is also the most common place a scan gets rejected — knowing why upfront helps you get a usable result on the first try.

• Blur or camera shake — the image needs to be sharp enough to read fine texture.
• Lighting that's too bright or too dark, which washes out or hides real detail.
• An extreme head angle, or a face that's too small or off-center in the frame.
• More than one face in the shot, or no face detected at all.
• Sunglasses, a mask, or hair covering key areas of the face.

A trained neural network analyzes color, texture, and light-reflection patterns across your face to estimate 10 skin metrics — hydration, blemish-proneness, redness-proneness, oiliness, dark spots, radiance, texture, firmness, wrinkles, and dark circles. Rather than treating the face as one flat surface, the analysis looks separately at distinct regions — forehead, cheeks, nose, and the under-eye area — since skin behaves differently across these zones.

Your results aren't just numbers. Each metric comes with a plain-language explanation and a heatmap overlay showing which areas of your face most influenced that particular score, so you can see the 'why' behind every result — not just the 'what.'

Once your scan is complete, you can download a PDF summary of your results to keep for your own records or to share with a skincare professional if you choose to.
