Frequently asked questions
Everything we most commonly get asked about how GreenPeel Foods works and how your data is handled.
No. GreenPeel Foods provides cosmetic, AI-estimated skin analysis for informational purposes only. It does not diagnose, treat, or screen for any medical condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical or dermatological advice. If you have a concern about your skin, a mole, a rash, or any other health issue, please consult a licensed dermatologist or physician.
Our model estimates each metric by analyzing color, texture, and light reflection patterns in your photo using computer vision. Every result includes a confidence score, and results can be affected by lighting, camera quality, angle, and skin tone under varying light conditions. Scores are best used as a consistent, repeatable way to track relative changes in your skin over time — not as a precise or clinical measurement.
Your photo is used only to generate your analysis. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, processed to produce your metrics and heatmaps, and then automatically deleted after a short retention window. We do not use your photos to train shared models without separate, explicit consent, and we never sell your images.
Yes. You can request deletion of your photos, scan results, and account data at any time. Because analysis requires your consent before every scan, you're always in control of whether a new scan happens at all.
You can try a single scan without creating an account. Creating a free account lets you securely save your results and revisit your skin's progress over time on your history page.
GreenPeel Foods works in modern browsers — recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge — on both desktop and mobile. You can either use your device's front-facing camera for a live capture or upload a clear existing photo, so a working camera isn't strictly required.
Automated quality checks run before analysis to make sure results are meaningful. Common reasons a photo is rejected include: no face detected, more than one face in frame, the face being too small or too far from the camera, an extreme head angle, blur or camera shake, lighting that's too bright or too dark, and occlusions like sunglasses, masks, or hair covering the face. If your photo is rejected, the app tells you the specific reason so you can retake it.
We don't sell your images or personal data. Limited data may be processed by infrastructure providers strictly to operate the service (for example, secure cloud storage or compute needed to run the analysis), under confidentiality and data-processing obligations — never for their own marketing or unrelated purposes.
